Subject: Vocabulaire

Bonjour,

Je m'apelle Sonia Fontaine et je suis actuellement en stage en Hollande, dans le cadre de mes études (stage ingénieur de fin d'études, INSA de Toulouse, département Génie Mathématique et Modélisation).

J'ai juste une petite question de vocabulaire à vous soumettre: connaitriez vous la traduction en anglais du mot : "coercif", que je n'arrive pas à trouver sur le net!

"coercive" existe dans le "Oxford English Dictionary" http://dictionary.oed.com/entrance.dtl avec la définition

A. adj.

1. Of the nature of coercion; having the attribute of coercing.
   
   
2. Compelling assent or belief, convincing.
   
   
3. Having the power of physical pressure or compression. Cf. COERCION 3.

1. trans. To constrain or restrain (a voluntary or moral agent) by the application of superior force, or by authority resting on force; to constrain to compliance or obedience by forcible means; 'to keep in order by force' (J.). Also absol.

C'est le sens habituel du mot coercif. (Par contre je ne trouve pas coercif en francais dans le dictionnaire hachette http://www.francophonie.hachette-livre.fr/)

En français, le mot juste semble être "coercitif" plutôt que "coercif".
